Artist Statement

Triangular structures are strong and rigid systems. In utilizing and repeating the merits of such a structural system, a unique and logical composition was discovered. Through the use of contemporary techniques and materials, metal tubes led us to the creation of a more flexible space and unique form.

White fabric, stretched between the triangulated metal tube structure, defines a safe, restful space within an outdoor environment. The roof, covered with bamboo leaves atop fishing line strung between tubes, provides some protection from the elements but allows visitors glimpses of the sky and heavens.

As a temporary structure, all parts of the Sukkah can be assembled or disassembled for portability and convenient, efficient storage. The benefits of advanced technology and materials ultimately liberate our imagination.
