Volunteer Opportunities at the Downtown Synagogue

Dig in at Eden Gardens

Join us on Sundays mornings this summer at the amazing Eden Gardens with Chava Knox! We are two communities (Downtown Synagogue & Eden Gardens Block Club) working together to build relationships and a garden. Workdays always include an opportunity to get dirty and to sing songs. Dress appropriately. The garden is located at 12273 Glenfield, just north of Outer Drive off Gratiot. Contact the synagogue for more information. We are so grateful to the Jewish Women’s Foundation of Metropolitan Detroit for their past sponsorship and grants supporting Eden Gardens!

Create With Us

We work hard to build a community of engaged, excited members, volunteers, and advocates throughout the Detroit area. As a community member, we hope you’ll consider joining a committee, where we like to say “the real work happens” and our lay leadership is at its finest! Click here for information about our various committees!

Volunteer to drive Fellow Members

Some of our members face challenges with transportation and need a helping hand coming to the Downtown Synagogue! Offer your assistance as a driver in Wayne, Macomb, or Oakland Counties enabling a fellow congregant to join us in worship, an activity, Lunch & Learn or other events. Email us to volunteer as a mobility mensch!
