Honoring Loved Ones with a Yahrzeit

In Judaism, we honor and carry forward the memory of those before us from generation to generation. One of the most widely observed Jewish rituals is the lighting of a candle and reciting the Mourner’s Kaddish on the yahrzeit of a loved one.

If you would like to provide us with the names and dates of your loved ones, we will notify you each year in advance of the Yahrzeit so you may join us during services to say Kaddish.

To receive yahrzeit notices, please submit the English name (Hebrew name if you have it) and English date of death of your loved ones to us at gale@downtownsynagogue.org.
